When we first moved to California, I was utterly entranced by the ocean - this Texas girl just wanted to touch, see, smell and hear it as often as she could. I promised myself I would never take that beautiful sight for granted. True to my promise, I do my best to run (or walk when I'm too lazy) along this trail everyday. Sometimes I have to pinch myself we're so lucky. And sometimes, that pinch comes in the form of house prices and taxes.

I know just how you feel. My husband and I moved to California from Texas last August and are really feeling the taxes. We're lucky enough to live in military housing for now so we don't need to pay for a house yet, but we're not looking forward to it!
