My family used to take day trips out to a tiny town called Brenham, Texas for burgers (that came in a cardboard car) and Blue Bell Ice cream. In addition to some good ol' Texas eats, this is where I first discovered my love for thrift and antique stores...I love the funny smell, thrill of the hunt and story each piece brings:
I found this chest a while back and fell in love with the little gold details...a perfect match for my old armillary. One day I found a $10 bill on the ground and walked over to the Salvation Army to find this vase for $5...it was meant to be! The painting above it is one of my favorite pieces of all time; I found it on Etsy about 3 years ago and just love that it came on a jagged roll of butcher paper.
I would like to get a different lamp and replace the sportfishing book, but hey, sometimes you've got to work with what you've got!

Just gorgeous! I would never put all those things together. How are you so talented lady? Love it all.
isn't that a remake of a picasso?

BTW, my author name is for the stake blog I do not know why it keeps showing up! How weird!
are you kidding? i love that lamp! haha i was waiting for you to write where you found it so i could leave a comment of how jealous i was of it.
if you do give it up, i'm sure i can find a good home for it!!!
that painting reminds me how all my mixed emotions of figure drawing classes. i'd go from super confident to super low and wanting to run out of the class before they had to critique mine in a matter of minutes.
beautiful.
LOVE it! x Sarah
