Just can't wait

(A photo I fiddled with by Alicia Bock on Etsy)

For quite some time, Syd and I have daydreamed about taking a trip to Paris. Well, it's finally happening. For our 3rd anniversary we will be spending time in London and Paris! We are newbies and have never been before. Do you have suggestions? Your favorite things to see, eat, do, etc? We'd love to hear! In my opinion, trips are always better with recommendations from friends.

Congratulations! What a romantic idea. If you have a sunny day in Paris, be sure to go to sainte chapelle cathedral. The stained glass will take your breath away!

WOW! Doug and I just got back from our trip to London and Paris. What are the chances?! So we LOVED both places. I agree with all the other comments so far. We also did a hop-on-hop-off bus tour for both places. Yes, we felt kinda dumb and touristy, but it's the perfect way to see all the sites and get from place to place on the first day. I would also recommend the "Top 10 London" and "Top 10 Paris" books by Roger Williams (Eyewitness Travel). My mom used them, I used them, and they helped sooo much. The last thing I'll say is to relax. Don't worry about seeing everything, just enjoy the cities. They are amazing and you'll have such a great time.

eshhere is a recap of my last trip to England:
http://deannalw.blogspot.com/2009/08/england-scotland-walesoh-my.html

I heart English boys!
ahem...
*eat fish & chips with mushy peas and gravy. Then get them again with curry.
*Go to a show. It's pricey, but worth it just to do it.
*Beatles junk= Abbey Road, Strawberry Fields, recording studio, Penny Lane, etc.
*Tell Queen & Prince Harry I say hello and mind the gap.
*Do talk to strangers on top of the Eiffel Tower (it sparkles at night) and buy a baguette in any little bakery you find down cute streets.

SO JEALOUS.

Agree with all the suggestions and I'd add the Musee D'Orsay- best art museum ever (filled with tons of impressionist paintings- think Monet, Degas etc)- absolutely incredible.

Paris in the fall is the most magical place there is. You will love it. Do all the things mentioned, but do not miss Versailles. And while there explore the surrounding neighborhoods. They are adorable. Also worth the overly-tourist-priced-excursions is a night river cruise down the Seine. My other faves are the Musee d'orsay, and Montmartre. Be sure to by yourself some European perfume. I always love having a scent that no one else in the states does. Have fun!

So jealous! And excited for you guys! Wish I could give you tips! My sister Linsday (my brother's wife) is OBSESSED with it. They also went there for two weeks on their honeymoon. You should ask her! She's so nice she wouldn't care if you emailed her. In fact she'd probably give you TOO much to do :)
